The Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce has elected Osayaba Giwa-Osagie SAN, as its new Chairman. Other board members are Ajibola Olomola (Vice-Chairman), Zoe Omonkhogbe (Treasurer), Ije Jidenma (Director), Tobechukwu Okigbo (Director), Demola Sogunle (Director), Ohis Ehimiagbe (Director). The election was conducted at the 19th Annual General Meeting of the Chamber held on 26th November 2020.
Mr. Osayaba Giwa-Osagie is the senior and founding Partner of Giwa-Osagie & Co. He was the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce, before his election as the Chairman of the Chamber.
He is an experienced litigator and also a corporate and commercial lawyer with experience spanning over 30 years. He has been appointed as a consultant to state governments, local and international companies.
He has been involved in transactions arising from Oil and Gas projects in Nigeria. He has advised both local and foreign companies and has written several opinions on a wide range of subjects over the years.
Mr. Giwa-Osagie has also been involved in construction contracts in the Cement Industry. He has advised on construction and mining projects in Nigeria. He is also an expert in aviation law. He currently advises large corporate companies, foreign governments, and entities on legal issues pertaining to foreign business operations in Nigeria.
He is the Honorary Legal Adviser, Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce, and a director in some foreign-owned companies.
His election came into being following Mr. Foluso Phillip’s retirement as the Chairman of the Chamber.
